Amazing liquid eyeliner

I’ve mastered quite a few things in the umpteen years of my life; from rolling my tongue, doing underwater back flips and headstands on the lawn, to putting on stockings without laddering them, and even applying makeup, talking on the phone and shaving my legs all at the same time. But one thing I’ve never got the knack of is applying liquid eyeliner.

It’s a fiddly, worrisome trick that only makeup artists and 1950s goddess’ can claim to be good at. Even Amy Winehouse is bad at it, and she wears the stuff every day. So when I saw MAC’s Penultimate from the new Wonder Woman limited edition collection, I shook with excitement – could this be the answer?

The Penultimate looks, and rather disturbingly smells like a black permanent Vivid. My first thought was “I wouldn’t put that near my eyes”. However, on seeing the beautifully straight line it drew on my hand, I decided to give it a go.

Wow, this thing is amazing! The thin tapered end makes it simple to draw a straight line. It’s also blendable if you get in before it dries, so can be worked into a sexy smokey-eyed look with a bit of dark eyeshadow.
